 ortable\, Extensible Toolkit for Scientific Computation (PETSc) is a suite
  of data structures and\nroutines for the scalable (parallel) solution of 
 scientific problems arising from the discretization of PDEs.\nMainly\, it 
 is a powerful general-purpose infrastructure for the solution of sparse li
 near and non-linear\nsystems.\nDue to its solid mathematical grounding\, c
 areful software design\, and most importantly\, evolution resulting\nfrom 
 the usage of many users on various application areas\, PETSc has had a maj
 or impact throughout the\nscientific and engineering computing community.\
 nThe talk will give an overview of the PETSc library\, and demonstrate its
  uses in algorithmic research\,\nnumerical production simulation and paral
 lel performance evaluation\, using applications as examples.\nEspecially\,
  it will illustrate how to define and use the main needed objects under th
 e PETSc environment\,\nhighlighting their potential. At the end of the tal
 k\, we will discuss the ongoing work to drive PETSc to the\nnear or more d
